Job summary

Tanqeeb in Dubai, United Arab Emirates seeks a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment. You will execute preventive maintenance, inspections, and support breakdown repairs across filling and packaging lines, pumps, conveyors, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years of hands-on maintenance experience, knowledge of P&IDs, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in engineering maintenance.
• Knowledge of Chemical Manufacturing or FMCG industries preferred.
• Fair written and spoken English is mandatory.
• Ability to read P&IDs and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment and machinery.

Job description

• Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment and machinery.

• Carry out preventive maintenance and periodic inspections according to defined schedules and checklists.

• Troubleshoot and maintain:

• Liquid and powder filling machines

• Bag filling, Conipail, jerrycan and bottle filling equipment

• Bottle capping, lid pressing and crimping machines

• Semi-automatic labelling machines and inkjet printers

• Motors, gearboxes and pumps

• Blowers and fans

• Conveyor belts, slat conveyors and screw feeders

• Agitators / mixers and batch mixers

• Dust collectors and pneumatic transporters

• Electrical and pneumatic hoists

• Work with pneumatic cylinders, control valves, butterfly/ball valves, pneumatic actuators and position feedback units.

• Maintain hydraulic power packs, hydraulic cylinders and lifting equipment.

• Handle metal/plastic piping, valves, flanges, PRVs and flowmeters.

• Read and interpret P&IDs, equipment drawings, SLDs, control drawings, layouts and maintenance manuals.

• Perform breakdown maintenance and support spare-parts management.

• Participate in equipment rebuilds and overhauls.

• Use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for dimensional inspection.

• Identify opportunities to reduce breakdowns, waste, energy consumption and maintenance costs.

• Follow chemical safety procedures, PPE requirements and permit-to-work systems.

Desired Candidate Profile

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

• 6–8 years' experience in engineering maintenance.

• Chemical Manufacturing or FMCG industry preferred.

• Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience.

• Good troubleshooting and analytical/problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of tools, tackles and measurement instruments.

• Ability to read P&IDs and technical drawings.

• Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.

• Fair written and spoken English is mandatory.

• Maintenance management software / computer literacy will be an added advantage.
