Tanqeeb in Dubai seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance) to independently manage mechanical and hydraulic maintenance activities in the Fluids Department and related plant areas. You will troubleshoot breakdowns, perform root-cause analysis, and restore equipment to service.
The role focuses on Preventive Maintenance planning, shutdown execution, RCA/FMEA, and continuous improvement. You will supervise technicians and coordinate with production, stores, QA/QC, and external vendors
Independently manage mechanical and hydraulic maintenance activities within the Fluids Department and other assigned plant areas.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and hydraulic breakdowns, including root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and equipment restoration.
Develop, implement, and monitor Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to improve equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
Plan and execute shutdown maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion of maintenance work in line with approved schedules.
Conduct RCA and FMEA to identify recurring failures and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
Identify and maintain adequate critical and essential spare parts, coordinating with Stores, Procurement, and relevant stakeholders.
Monitor equipment availability, reliability, downtime, and maintenance performance, and implement improvement actions where required.
Lead Lean, Continuous Improvement, QC, CTR, suggestion programs, and 5S initiatives within maintenance and plant areas.
Maintain and ensure compliance with ISO documentation, SOPs, maintenance records, checklists, and technical documentation.
Plan and allocate manpower and resources effectively for daily maintenance, breakdowns, and shutdown activities.
Supervise, guide, and develop technicians, fitters, helpers, and other maintenance personnel to ensure effective execution of maintenance activities.
Coordinate with Production, Operations, Stores, Procurement, QA/QC, HSE, and external vendors/service providers on maintenance requirements and equipment-related issues.
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with plant safety standards, LOTO, permit-to-work requirements, and safe working practices.
Identify opportunities to reduce equipment downtime, improve reliability, optimize maintenance costs, and enhance plant performance.
Prepare regular maintenance reports, breakdown analysis, PM compliance reports, and performance updates for management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
5–10 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within a steel plant / metal manufacturing / heavy industrial environment.
Strong preference for candidates who have independently handled maintenance rather than only supporting senior engineers.
Proven experience in mechanical maintenance of heavy industrial machinery.
Strong hands-on experience in hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting, fault finding, maintenance, and repairs.
Proven experience in breakdown maintenance and emergency troubleshooting in a plant environment.
Strong experience in Preventive Maintenance (PM) planning, scheduling, and execution.
Hands-on experience in shutdown maintenance planning, coordination, and execution.
