Job summary

Sundus is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Planner (UAEN) for a major power generation client in the UAE. You will plan, schedule, and coordinate mechanical maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime across a large power plant environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with 10+ years in maintenance at a CCGT facility, and is proficient in IBM Maximo CMMS, MS Project, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of maintenance experience in a large power plant (CCGT preferred).
• Experience with GE heavy-duty F-class gas turbines or higher.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and plant reliability.
• Proficient in IBM Maximo CMMS; knowledge of MS Project and MS Office.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience in spare parts inventory and preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Willingness to work weekends or shifts when required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective mechanical maintenance.
• Prepare detailed job plans with manpower, materials, spare parts, tools, and required resources.
• Manage work orders, maintenance backlogs, equipment history, and spare parts using IBM Maximo (CMMS).
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, and Stores teams to prioritize maintenance activities and ensure resource availability.
• Analyze recurring mechanical equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Review completed work orders and identify opportunities to improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Support planned shutdowns, outage planning, reporting, cost analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate spare parts availability and inventory requirements to support maintenance execution.
• Assist the Engineering Manager with maintenance budgeting and maintenance planning activities.
