Job summary

Fujairah Building Industries in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced mechanical asset manager to design and oversee the maintenance strategy for plant machinery and utilities. You will lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across key production areas, coordinating with ERP, safety, and procurement teams.

The role requires 10–15 years in quality and process management within insulation/glass or heavy manufacturing, strong ISO 9001 knowledge, and proficiency in English

• Expert knowledge of thermal insulation standards and ISO 9001.
• Strong leadership to guide engineers and technicians under production pressure.
• Proficient in English; able to communicate technical concepts to Plant Manager and Sales.
• Skilled in analyzing chemical and physical test results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the maintenance strategy for plant machinery, heavy utilities and auxiliary systems.
• Direct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across critical production areas (cupola furnace, fiberization, cutting/packaging, auxiliaries).
• Oversee ERP maintenance module in Oracle EBS, review work orders, equipment history, and cost analytics.
• Plan and execute major shutdowns, overhauls, and capital machinery installations.
• Coordinate spare parts specifications and procurement with purchases/stores.
• Enforce strict safety standards; conduct risk assessments for high-risk mechanical work.
• Prepare mechanical availability reports and MTBF/MTTR metrics for Plant Manager.

Strategic Mechanical Asset Management: Establish and oversee the short-term and long-term mechanical maintenance strategy for all plant machinery, heavy utility equipment, and auxiliary systems.

Continuous Line Reliability Oversight: Direct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across critical rockwool production areas:

• Cupola Furnace & Charging System: Water-cooled jacket maintenance, charging skips, air blast blowers, and slag disposal systems.
• Fiberization & Curing Chamber: High-speed spinning machines, binder spray pumps, collection chamber pendulum belts, and curing oven chain drives.
• Cutting & Packaging Line: Longitudinal/transverse slitting saws, offline pipe-forming machines, roll facers, and hydraulic baling presses.
• Auxiliary Utilities: Industrial air compressors, cooling towers, heavy-duty dust extraction systems, and water treatment pumps.

Work Order & ERP Management: Oversee the mechanical maintenance module in Oracle EBS, reviewing work orders, equipment history logs, and maintenance cost analytics.

Major Overhauls & Shut Down Planning: Plan, coordinate, and execute major annual factory shutdowns, cupola re-bricking overhauls, and capital machinery installation projects.

Spare Parts & Procurement Coordination: Define technical specifications for mechanical spares, approve PRs for critical items, and coordinate with Purchase and Stores for vendor management.

EHS & Industrial Safety Leadership: Enforce strict industrial safety standards, conduct regular risk assessments for high-risk mechanical work (lifting, welding in confined spaces, furnace work), and conduct daily safety toolbox talks.

Reporting & Executive Analytics: Prepare detailed mechanical availability reports, MTBF/MTTR metrics, shutdown progress reports, and budget variance analyses for the Plant Manager.

Skills

Experience: Minimum 10 to 15 years in Quality and Process management within the insulation, glass, or heavy manufacturing industry.

Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of thermal insulation standards, ISO 9001 systems, and statistical process control (SPC).

Software: Proficiency in using Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) for quality data logging and production analysis.

Leadership: Strong ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians and make firm decisions under production pressure.

Language: Professional English proficiency is essential; the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to the Plant Manager and Sales team is required.

Abilities: Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex chemical and physical test results.
