ALSUWEIDI Engineering Consultants is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector for an Abu Dhabi project. Immediate joiner preferred.

You will supervise contractor activities on site, verify alignment with drawings and ITPs, and ensure safe, quality completion of temporary and permanent works. The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and has a minimum of five years’ experience, including three years in the UAE.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar or equivalent position, including 3 years in the UAE.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems and trade practices is required.
• Computer proficiency and experience using computer software is required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with management and staff.
• Commitment to safe work practices.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise, monitor and inspect on-site activities in accordance with approved drawings, materials, method statements and ITPs.
• Inspect site conditions prior to start of construction activities.
• Verify site compatibility with designed permanent works and check for obstructions.
• Document condition of existing property and protect structures, utilities and landscaping.
• Review delivered materials for conformance with samples and equipment; report findings.
• Ensure materials are properly stored and report discrepancies.
• Inspect temporary and permanent works for compliance with Contract Documents and drawings.
• Attend to Inspection Requests from the contractor and act timely.
• Review shop drawings against contract drawings, codes and best practice.
• Report non-conformances to stakeholders for action.
• Monitor quality and site safety per contract specs and risk assessments.
• Prepare daily logs, reports, and maintain site records with progress photos.
• Prepare surveillance reports for deficiencies and non-conformances if required.
• Coordinate disciplines and provide technical input to resolve issues on site.
• Observe safety practices and monitor progress; raise concerns when needed.
• Assist with inspection of completed works and in preparing punch lists; monitor startup, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Perform all other duties assigned by the direct manager.

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join our team for our project in Abu Dhabi.

Immediate joiner is preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise, monitor and inspect all activities carried out by the Contractor on site in accordance with the approved shop drawings, materials, method statements and ITPs.
• Inspecting site conditions prior to start of construction activities.
• Verifying the compatibility of the site with the designed permanent works and checking for obstructions.
• Documenting the condition of existing property that might be damaged by the work and ensuring all existing structures, property, utilities and landscaping are properly protected.
• Reviewing materials delivered to site for conformance with approved samples, materials and equipment and report findings.
• Checking that materials delivered to site are properly stored and report discrepancies.
• Inspecting the construction of temporary and permanent works to ensure compliance with the Contract Documents and approved shop drawings and submittals.
• Attending to Inspection Requests submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
• Reviewing submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice.
• Reporting any works carried out by contractor found to not be in accordance with approved drawing and specifications and report to stakeholders for appropriate action.
• Monitoring quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual / QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments.
• Preparing daily logs and reports.
• Maintaining records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required.
• Preparing surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non-conformance reports if required in view of the development of events.
• Checking and ensuring there is effective co-ordination between disciplines related works and all other disciplines.
• Providing technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise.
• Observing site safety practices and the progress of the work and reporting any concerns.
• Assisting with the inspection of completed works and assisting in preparing punch lists. Monitoring the start-up, testing, commissioning and handover of the works.
• Perform all other duties given by the direct manager.

REQUIREMENTS

• Educational Background:

Bachelors' Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

• Relevant Experience:

Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar or equivalent position, with 3 years' experience in the UAE

• Skills:

Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems and trade practices is required.

Computer proficiency and knowledge and experience using computer software.

Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.

Commitment to safe work practices.
