Job summary

First Point Group in Dubai seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and optimise equipment for power generation and critical infrastructure. You will work with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams on packaged power systems, enclosures, cooling solutions and related mechanical systems.

The role requires 7–10 years of mechanical engineering experience, familiarity with Creo/ANSYS, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience in power generation, gensets, or packaged power solutions preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
• Understanding of mechanical system design, ventilation, cooling, acoustics and vibration principles.
• Strong technical communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Experience with Creo or ANSYS is a plus.
• Willingness to work in technical and customer‑facing environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review mechanical design concepts for industrial and power generation equipment.
• Evaluate enclosure designs, ventilation systems, cooling performance, noise control and vibration mitigation.
• Review engineering drawings, technical documentation and design specifications.

• Perform engineering assessments and provide recommendations for product improvements and design optimisation.

A leading global engineering and power solutions organisation is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development and optimisation of equipment used within power generation, critical infrastructure and industrial environments.

This is a highly visible engineering role offering the opportunity to work closely with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams on technically complex projects involving packaged power systems, equipment enclosures, cooling solutions and related mechanical systems.

• Strong technical communication skills with the ability to engage customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Experience using engineering tools such as Creo, ANSYS or equivalent is advantageous.
• Comfortable working in both technical and customer-facing environments.
