Job summary

Sembol Construction in Dubai seeks a highly skilled Mechanical Chief Engineer to lead all mechanical engineering aspects of our construction projects, ensuring systems are designed, installed and maintained to the highest standards.

You will oversee design reviews, coordinate with project managers, architects and other disciplines, and manage on-site installation, testing and commissioning to meet safety and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in construction, with 5+ years in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and MEP coordination.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering team in design, implementation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Review and approve designs, drawings and specs for compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Chief Engineer to lead and oversee all mechanical engineering aspects of our construction projects in Dubai. The ideal candidate will ensure mechanical systems are designed, installed, and maintained to the highest standards, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical engineering team in the design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical systems for construction projects.
• Review and approve mechanical engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient project delivery.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems on-site to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Develop and implement mechanical engineering policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize project performance.
• Conduct technical assessments, troubleshooting, and problem-solving related to mechanical systems.
• Manage procurement of mechanical equipment and materials, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff to foster professional development and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and environmental standards related to mechanical engineering.
• Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
• Professional engineering license or certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership or chief engineer role
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and MEP coordination.
• Proven experience in managing complex construction projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and project management software.
• Knowledge of UAE construction codes, regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while ensuring quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a commitment to safety and sustainability.
