Job summary

Bright Accord general contracting in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and supervise mechanical activities on construction projects in the UAE.

You will review drawings, coordinate with consultants and subcontractors, and ensure installation, testing, commissioning, and inspection meet project requirements, standards, and HSE guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant UAE construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mechanical engineering activities on construction projects.
• Review and coordinate mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Manage installation, testing, commissioning, and inspection of mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Monitor site progress and ensure works are completed according to the approved schedule.
• Review submittals, material approvals, shop drawings, method statements, and inspection requests.
• Ensure compliance with UAE codes, standards, and authority requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical and site-related mechanical issues.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections, testing, and documentation.
• Assist with project planning, manpower, material procurement, and cost control.
• Attend technical meetings and provide engineering solutions as required.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and promote safe practices.
• Prepare progress reports and provide updates to the Project Manager.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising mechanical engineering activities, ensuring that works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and UAE standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with strong UAE construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and construction activities.
• Experience in managing site teams and coordinating with consultants and subcontractors.
• Good knowledge of UAE standards, regulations, and authority requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering and project management software.
• Candidates willing to work in Abu Dhabi and Ruwais are preferred.
