Job summary

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in heavy equipment mechanical repairs within oil/gas or power plants.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine, preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery per schedules.
• Perform dismantling, repair, and reassembly of faulty components.
• Monitor performance on start-up and report readings outside limits.
• Install and modify systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Support start-ups/shutdowns of critical equipment and systems.
• Coordinate major equipment outages and workshops for overhaul.

Job Description / Role:

The Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of rotating equipment and machinery. This role involves working within an A/C environment with occasional exposure to prevailing weather conditions during site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine, preventive and predictive maintenance checks and tests on machinery and equipment according to schedules and check lists.
• Perform corrective maintenance by dismantling, assembling, and replacing components to repair defective equipment.
• Conduct performance monitoring upon start-up and report readings outside tolerable limits.
• Execute new installations and modifications to systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Assist during the start-up and shutdown of critical equipment and systems.
• Participate in annual shutdowns or major equipment turnarounds.
• Coordinate the removal of major equipment or sub-assemblies to the workshop for overhaul.
• Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, and standards.
• Provide on-the-job training to support Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.
• Maintain all tools, safety gear, and equipment in safe working condition.
• Manage maintenance tasks in line with assigned time standards and coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor for additional resources.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in operating procedures and machinery.
• Comply with HSE policies, procedures, and legislation, and participate in Emergency Response duties.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping in the work environment.
• Collect technical data, prepare progress reports, and initiate Near Miss reports.

Experience Required:

4 years of experience, in heavy equipment mechanical repairs, within the oil/gas industry or power plants.

Education Qualifications:

Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field
