Key Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and design documents to determine material requirements.
• Recommend suitable construction materials based on technical specifications, environmental conditions, durability, and cost considerations.
• Ensure all selected materials comply with applicable standards such as ASTM, BS, ISO, and client requirements.
• Develop and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures for materials used on the project.
• Conduct inspections and oversee testing of materials to verify compliance with approved standards and specifications.
• Approve or reject materials based on test results, inspection findings, and project requirements.
• Monitor material quality during manufacturing, delivery, storage, and installation on site.
• Oversee laboratory and on-site testing of concrete, asphalt, steel, soil, aggregates, and other construction materials.
• Review and approve material test reports, certificates of compliance, and technical documentation.
• Identify, document, and manage non-conforming materials and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Coordinate with procurement teams to source materials from approved suppliers and evaluate vendor performance.
• Conduct supplier and manufacturer audits to verify compliance with quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to optimize material usage, reduce waste, and recommend cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
• Monitor material costs and ensure alignment with project budgets.
• Maintain accurate records of material approvals, test results, inspections, and quality control activities.
• Prepare and submit regular material quality and compliance reports to project management.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and certification bodies as required to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
