Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve material submittals, test reports, and contractor proposals in line with project specifications and relevant authority requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of material deliveries and verify their compliance with approved sources and standards.
- Attend supplier and factory inspections, ensuring quality consistency and certification compliance.
- Supervise on-site material testing and liaise with accredited laboratories for validation.
- Maintain records of material test results, approval status, and supplier performance.
- Support Resident Engineer in monitoring project materials and work progress.
- Evaluate contractor's methods, test reports, and ensure timely corrective actions where non-compliance is detected.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth material approval workflow.
- Ensure full adherence to ISO 9001 quality systems and relevant Dubai Municipality and DCL (Dubai Central Laboratory) requirements.
- Prepare daily reports, inspection records, and documentation for quality audits.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in material engineering for infrastructure, water, sewerage, and pumping station projects.
- Must hold Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) approval.
- Strong understanding of authority standards (DM, DEWA, RTA) and UAE construction practices.
- In-depth knowledge of materials testing, specifications, and international standards.
- Proven ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and inspection teams.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- ISO 9000 or QA/QC certification preferred.
