Job summary

HEA Energy is seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in maritime contracts, shipping law, and claims management to join our legal team in Abu Dhabi. You will draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of charter parties, sale and purchase agreements, and procurement contracts, while managing notices, milestones, and risk exposure.

The role requires coordinating with commercial, operations, and marine departments, plus external partners such as P&I clubs and insurers.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in shipping, maritime law, or contracts management.
• Experience with BIMCO contracts and charter parties.
• Ability to coordinate with P&I clubs, insurers, and external counsel.
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate maritime and commercial contracts.
• Manage time, voyage, bareboat charter parties, and BIMCO agreements.
• Oversee ship management, shipbuilding/repair, and sale & purchase contracts.
• Administer NDAs and procurement contracts; monitor obligations and milestones.
• Provide legal and commercial support to operations and commercial teams.
• Review fixture recaps, charter party amendments, and commercial correspondence.
• Coordinate with external counsel, P&I clubs, insurers, and maritime consultants.
• Support arbitration, mediation, and litigation when required.
• Identify contractual risks and mitigation measures.
