Job summary

The Museum of the Future in Dubai seeks an experienced Network & Infrastructure Lead to design, implement, and operate a complex enterprise network across data centers and exhibition environments.

You will manage Cisco infrastructure, FortiGate security, virtualization (Proxmox VE), and monitoring stacks, guiding a team and collaborating with Cybersecurity, IT operations, and AV teams to ensure resilience and uptime.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in network and infrastructure engineering and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and operation of enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure.
• Oversee Cisco network infrastructure including core/access switches, wireless APs, controllers, routing, and services.
• Establish standards for configuration, backups, change control, and rollback.
• Monitor availability, capacity, and performance with proactive issue resolution.
• Manage lifecycle, upgrades, licensing, and hardware refresh for infrastructure.
• Coordinate security with Cybersecurity teams, oversee FortiGate firewalls, hardening, and access controls.
• Lead Proxmox VE and other virtualization platforms, including upgrades and migrations.
• Support AV, exhibition, and visitor-facing infrastructure, ensuring high availability.

Job description

• Lead the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure.
• Manage Cisco network infrastructure, including core/access switches, wireless access points, controllers, routing, and network services.
• Establish standards for network configuration, backup, version control, change management, and rollback.
• Monitor network availability, capacity, utilization, and performance, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
• Manage the network technology lifecycle, including capacity planning, upgrades, hardware refresh, licensing, and support.

Network Security

• Oversee FortiGate firewalls, network segmentation, secure connectivity, and remote access.
• Ensure network infrastructure follows approved security, hardening, and access-control standards.
• Coordinate vulnerability remediation, patching, and security improvements with Cybersecurity teams.
• Ensure appropriate monitoring and logging of network security events and infrastructure access
• Manage server, storage, virtualization, and associated infrastructure platforms, including Synology storage environments.
• Ensure infrastructure availability, performance, capacity, scalability, and resilience.
• Manage Proxmox VE and other virtualization platforms, including upgrades and migrations.
• Oversee server and storage patching, maintenance, configuration, backup, and lifecycle management.
• Support modernization and migration across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Management & Monitoring of systems and logs.

• Establish proactive monitoring, alerting, observability, and capacity management across network and infrastructure environments.
• Manage and optimize monitoring platforms including LibreNMS, ManageEngine, Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic Stack.
• Lead infrastructure incident and problem management, including root cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Maintain operational dashboards covering availability, performance, capacity, and infrastructure health.

Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery

• Own infrastructure backup, recovery, redundancy, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Define and regularly test backup, recovery, and failover procedures.
• Ensure critical infrastructure configurations and data are securely backed up and recoverable.
• Maintain infrastructure disaster recovery plans, procedures, and technical runbooks.
• Support the design and operation of cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Coordinate infrastructure vulnerability scanning, hardening, and configuration compliance.
• Work with Cybersecurity teams to implement security controls and remediation requirements.
• Support infrastructure security platforms including OpenVAS, OpenSCAP, CrowdStrike, and equivalent technologies.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on infrastructure supporting GitLab, Plastic SCM, containers, and deployment environments.
• Support infrastructure automation, configuration management, and monitoring integration.
• Ensure reliable and scalable infrastructure for applications, data platforms, and AI initiatives.

Exhibition & AV Infrastructure

• Ensure reliable network and infrastructure support for AV, interactive exhibits, and visitor-facing systems.
• Support infrastructure requirements for RTLS, RFID, and other connected exhibition technologies.
• Work with AV and Exhibition teams to improve availability, resilience, monitoring, and recovery of exhibition systems.
• Lead and develop the Network & Infrastructure team, ensuring effective operational coverage and knowledge transfer.
• Manage vendors, service providers, support contracts, and technical escalations.
• Maintain infrastructure architecture documentation, standards, procedures, and asset records.
• Support infrastructure budgeting, procurement, licensing, and technology lifecycle planning.

Minimum Experience: 8-10 years of experience in network and infrastructure engineering and operations, with at least 3 years in a senior, lead, or managerial role.

Strong experience in enterprise networking, Cisco infrastructure, servers, storage, virtualization, network security, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.

Experience with technologies such as Cisco, FortiGate, Proxmox VE, ManageEngine, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack, OpenVAS, OpenSCAP, CrowdStrike, GitLab, Plastic SCM, and ZeroTier, or equivalent platforms.

Experience managing infrastructure projects, vendors, major incidents, upgrades, migrations, and technology lifecycle activities.

Experience supporting AV, exhibition, venue, entertainment, or other technology-intensive environments is an advantage.
