The IT Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and 24/7 operational support of the enterprise IT network. This hands-on role demands deep technical expertise in networking, wireless technologies, and firewalls. In addition to technical execution, the engineer will champion enterprise security, drive infrastructure governance and compliance, and support the IT Manager in executing the overall technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- o Manage and ensure the optimal operation, performance, and 99% availability of all data center servers, network hardware, and wireless infrastructure.
- o Manage and ensure the effectiveness of enterprise security solutions, specifically firewalls and anti-virus solutions.
- o Provide problem-solving leadership and direct technical oversight for complex infrastructure implementations, system upgrades, and operational troubleshooting.
- o Test network performance, provide performance statistics, and proactively monitor systems to capture potential alerts before they occur.
- o Accountable for the delivery of 24/7 service operations across all IT infrastructure, and networks.
- o Build relationships with internal customers to ensure IT services are appropriately planned and delivered in line with business requirements.
- o Conduct research, evaluate products, and negotiate with vendors and contractors to secure best-in-class network products and services. Plan and coordinate the installation of remote and in-house hardware.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in network administration, enterprise infrastructure management, and network security operations.
- Cisco: CCNA / CCNP Enterprise
- NSE 4 / NSE 7 (Fortinet Certified Professional or Solution Specialist)
Preferred Skills:
- Proven hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing Fortinet security appliances (FortiGate Firewalls, VPNs, threat management).
- Proven experience with managing and supporting multiple network sites and branches
- Expertise in deploying and managing enterprise-grade Aruba wireless infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Aruba ClearPass for secure device authentication, role-based access, and policy enforcement.
- Advanced proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco network hardware (routers, switches, WAN/LAN architecture).
- Strong grasp of general security protocols, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and antivirus integrations.
- Experience with implementation of SIEM solutions.
