The position oversees 24x7 digital service monitoring while driving operational resilience, service quality, automation, governance, and standardized IT service management practices across ADNOC and its Group Companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Digital Operations Center team and manage 24x7 monitoring of enterprise applications, infrastructure, networks, and associated digital services.
- Plan staffing rotations, night shifts, leave coverage, travel, workload allocation, and resource backup arrangements to maintain uninterrupted monitoring throughout the year.
- Assess and prioritize application, infrastructure, and network interruptions, provide technical direction, coordinate stakeholder communications, and oversee root-cause analysis.
- Act as a senior escalation and decision point for major digital service incidents, operational issues, and service management concerns.
- Establish and maintain Change Management, Event Management, Incident Management, and supporting service management processes.
- Develop, review, standardize, and approve operating procedures and Digital Operations Center SOPs.
- Monitor service performance through daily dashboards, SLAs, KPIs, incident trends, application performance indicators, and operational reports.
- Review significant events and recommend monitoring baseline changes that improve detection quality and reduce recurring incidents.
- Coordinate remediation when service performance deviates from agreed SLAs and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Lead service governance discussions with ADNOC stakeholders and Group Companies covering operational status, service gaps, improvement priorities, and new opportunities.
- Communicate identified outages promptly to relevant stakeholders and coordinate appropriate technical support teams through resolution.
- Manage team capability development through coaching, mentoring, cross-functional training, backup planning, performance feedback, and knowledge transfer.
- Build expertise across network, compute, enterprise monitoring tools, service management, and related operational domains.
- Drive automation initiatives that improve Digital Operations Center efficiency, response quality, monitoring coverage, and service delivery.
- Lead daily operational meetings to coordinate workloads, priorities, escalations, and outstanding service issues.
- Contribute to Group digital strategy and lead implementation of Digital Operations Center roadmaps aligned with evolving business requirements.
- Translate strategic digital objectives into practical monitoring solutions, operational capabilities, and sustainable services.
- Assess emerging technologies and architectures including cloud platforms, advanced security analytics, hyper-converged infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and next-generation digital operations technologies.
- Identify digital enablement use cases and develop business cases for new technology initiatives in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Promote adoption of innovative infrastructure technologies that improve operational efficiency, resilience, scalability, and cost effectiveness.
- Act as a trusted digital advisor to business management and help translate business requirements into suitable technology capabilities and services.
- Coordinate high-level feasibility assessments during pre-project stages to determine the viability and value of proposed digital solutions.
- Support development and maintenance of digital service catalogues covering available products, capabilities, and customer services.
- Lead analysis of business technology needs and propose appropriate digital products and services that support operational objectives.
- Coordinate prioritization and tracking of the digital project portfolio in collaboration with business and project management stakeholders.
- Drive digital modernization with emphasis on technology simplification, cost optimization, integrated services, information security, and process standardization.
- Collaborate across Digital departments to strengthen business resilience, digital service continuity, disaster recovery, and integration with corporate business continuity plans.
- Ensure digital services are operated with appropriate levels of confidentiality, integrity, availability, security, and operational resilience.
- Support preparation and regular testing of technical disaster recovery and service continuity procedures.
- Manage relationships with technology suppliers, service providers, systems integrators, consultants, and telecommunications providers.
- Participate in vendor evaluation, technology benchmarking, RFP and RFQ development, contractual reviews, and SLA negotiations.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure externally delivered digital services meet required quality, cost, and support expectations.
- Oversee capacity planning and resource scheduling across internal teams and external service providers.
- Evaluate technology investments, proof-of-concept initiatives, alternative solutions, and cost-versus-benefit scenarios.
- Act as a technical authority when reviewing and endorsing digital operational service solutions involving networks, infrastructure, and applications.
- Promote knowledge management, operational excellence, process effectiveness, and continuous service improvement.
- Manage section resources, operational plans, expenditure, performance objectives, and budget inputs in a cost-conscious manner.
- Develop employee competencies, succession capability, talent pipelines, and Personal Development Plans, with appropriate support for Emiratization objectives.
- Maintain compliance with applicable company policies, international standards, HSE requirements, sustainability guidelines, and information security requirements.
- Provide management with accurate MIS, operational performance, service quality, and progress reporting.
Ideal Profile
The position requires a Bachelor 's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, supported by at least 15 years of relevant experience. Candidates should have substantial experience leading support or operations teams, including responsibility for teams of five or more members.
Strong practical knowledge of enterprise digital service monitoring is essential. The successful candidate should understand infrastructure, application, network, and service-level monitoring and have hands‑on familiarity with market‑leading enterprise monitoring systems. Deep knowledge of Service Management and Operations is expected, particularly Event Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management.
Familiarity with Configuration and Asset Management, Capacity and Availability Management, Change Management, and Service Level Management is also important. The role suits a technology leader who can move comfortably between major incident escalation, operational governance, technical strategy, workforce leadership, vendor engagement, emerging technology assessment, and senior stakeholder discussions.
