This role supports ADNOC Group by developing enterprise architecture standards, guiding digital platforms, reviewing solution designs, leading architecture governance, and ensuring digital infrastructure, systems, data, applications, and services align with business strategy and future-state technology objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, communicate, and govern enterprise architectures across business, data, application, and technology domains.
- Build and update enterprise architecture roadmaps that align with corporate strategy, business goals, digital strategy, and future operating needs.
- Provide consultation and architecture support to business transformation programs and Group Digital initiatives in accordance with enterprise architecture guidance.
- Participate in developing Group Digital strategies and ensure enterprise platforms support organizational priorities and business functions.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and define how digital platforms can enable business strategy, service improvement, and operational performance.
- Design enterprise architecture models that align digital capabilities with strategic objectives, business priorities, governance requirements, and technology standards.
- Assess business processes, services, capabilities, systems, and data views to support program objectives and future architecture direction.
- Deliver fit-for-purpose architecture models, views, and presentations to support enterprise-wide decision-making by program stakeholders.
- Guide current and future enterprise architecture across business, information, technology, and application domains to support business improvement and technology advancement.
- Develop, update, and standardize enterprise architecture standards, methods, practices, and procedures in line with organizational strategies and industry norms.
- Promote adoption of enterprise architecture frameworks, tools, methods, and governance practices across digital and business organizations.
- Guide solution architects in daily enterprise architecture activities, architecture documentation, design alignment, and operational architecture reviews.
- Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture governance framework and ensure consistent use of approved architecture controls.
- Perform architecture reviews of solution selection, solution design, and project deliverables through formal architecture stage gates.
- Review domain architectures and implementation projects to ensure alignment with digital roadmaps, domain strategies, principles, quality standards, and future-state architecture.
- Develop transformation roadmaps based on enterprise architecture future-state gap analysis to address business requirements and priorities.
- Influence and support the formation and implementation of digital strategies across ADNOC and Group Companies.
- Identify, assess, and recommend new and emerging technologies, services, products, methods, and techniques that can enhance enterprise architecture capability.
- Ensure accurate documentation and standardization of new and existing enterprise architecture processes, standards, and architectural artifacts.
- Lead ADNOC Digital architecture board meetings and drive governance decisions across architecture matters.
- Lead departmental efforts to establish plans, processes, and tools required for digital services continuity and recovery planning.
- Collaborate with digital service delivery, service operations, program management, and governance teams to identify opportunities for service improvement.
- Participate in service demand and change management by reviewing new demands, change requests, and architecture impacts.
- Provide technical expertise and support to domain service delivery teams in developing business cases, architecture artifacts, and solution recommendations.
- Advise stakeholders on risks, threats, concerns, and opportunities connected to new service demands, solution changes, and technology decisions.
- Recommend suitable domain technical architectures in coordination with architects and in full compliance with enterprise architecture strategy and principles.
- Lead awareness of digital governance mechanisms within the department and ensure governance requirements are embedded into processes and architectures.
- Contribute to the protection of ADNOC Digital assets and corporate information by implementing information security standards, policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate assigned architecture activities to achieve functional objectives.
- Provide input for budgets, approved work plans, performance control, and cost governance across assigned architecture activities.
- Support HSE, sustainability, applicable legislation, international standards, and ADNOC Code of Practices in all relevant work activities.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 9 years of relevant core IT experience, including at least 5 years in managerial roles with emphasis on IT architecture management.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture domains, including business architecture, data architecture, application architecture, technology architecture, and solution delivery.
- Experience defining and managing domain architecture blueprints and roadmaps for strategic business needs within the Oil and Energy sector.
- Strong understanding of key business processes in the oil and gas industry and their relationship with digital platforms, infrastructure, applications, and data.
- Broad exposure to architectural domains including data platforms, application portfolios, infrastructure, integration, solution delivery, and technology governance.
- Knowledge of IT planning, business analysis, business process design, process re-engineering, systems development, implementation, project management, and audit practices.
- Working knowledge of best-practice methodologies and frameworks such as ITIL, PMBOK, COBIT, and TOGAF.
- Strong understanding of management system elements including strategy, policy, process, procedures, guidelines, standards, and governance controls.
- Ability to assess multiple technologies and processing environments while remaining neutral toward vendor, product, and technology choices.
- Strong knowledge of finance, budgeting, cost control, and business case development for technology programs.
- Professional certification in Open Group TOGAF is recommended.
- Certifications in system architecture, security architecture, data architecture, network design, or IT service management are advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder influencing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to present architecture concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, governance awareness, prioritization, and relationship management capability.
- Able to work with leadership, end users, program managers, project managers, architects, governance teams, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and ADNOC Group Companies.
