Role Context

The Manager – Commercial Data will lead the governance and enhancement of commercial processes and data management practices across Group Companies. This position ensures that ERP‑enabled commercial operations are standardized, reliable, auditable, and aligned with approved policies and business priorities.

Key responsibilities include impact on reporting accuracy, cycle‑time performance, commercial decision‑making, system adoption, data integrity, internal controls, audit readiness, and long‑term efficiency of Group Commercial activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish standardized commercial processes and data governance frameworks across Group Companies to improve consistency, compliance, and system utilization.
  • Lead continuous optimization of commercial workflows within ERP and related systems to enhance data accuracy, reduce process delays, and improve cycle‑time performance.
  • Govern commercial data integrity, completeness, quality, and reliability through validation controls, monitoring mechanisms, exception reporting, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain strong ERP data structures, master data governance, and system integration points to support stable and seamless end‑to‑end commercial operations.
  • Oversee the planning, evaluation, and implementation of system enhancements aligned with business priorities, approved standards, and measurable value outcomes.
  • Drive the adoption of data management practices and reporting structures that support advanced analytics, business intelligence, performance tracking, and informed decision‑making.
  • Monitor system performance and data‑related risks, initiating timely interventions to resolve issues and maintain compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Coordinate with Digital, Cyber Security, Finance, Group Commercial teams, and other corporate stakeholders to align system capabilities, integration needs, and data standards.
  • Prioritize system changes with cross‑functional teams and ensure commercial solutions are delivered in a controlled, integrated, and business‑focused manner.
  • Oversee user adoption of commercial systems and data standards by issuing guidance, validating compliance, and reinforcing alignment with approved policies and procedures.
  • Lead impact assessments for system changes, data model updates, ERP enhancements, and transformation initiatives to protect business continuity and data integrity.
  • Adjust processes where required to minimize disruption during implementation of new tools, reporting structures, workflow changes, or commercial system upgrades.
  • Engage with Group Companies to resolve operational challenges, improve data ownership, strengthen process discipline, and support consistent execution of commercial processes.
  • Work with external vendors and partners to support integration of data management tools, commercial platforms, and related technology solutions.
  • Represent the organization in relevant forums and conferences linked to commercial processes, ERP improvement, and data management practices when required.
  • Maintain working relationships with regulatory bodies to support compliance with industry standards and relevant commercial data requirements.
  • Plan and supervise department personnel, resources, and activities to achieve division objectives in an efficient and cost‑conscious manner.
  • Ensure implementation of approved departmental operational plans in line with division priorities, service expectations, and business objectives.
  • Develop department knowledge, competencies, and innovation capability through staff development, coaching, and structured capability‑building activities.
  • Support Personal Development Plans, succession planning, and talent pipeline initiatives in coordination with the Human Capability Group.
  • Contribute to the development of UAE Nationals and support Emiratization objectives through targeted knowledge transfer and employee growth planning.
  • Compile and provide input for division budget preparation and monitor department expenditure against approved budget levels.
  • Investigate, highlight, and reconcile significant budget variances to maintain performance discipline and cost control.
  • Lead implementation of approved department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Ensure department work programs are executed in line with company standards, international standards, commercial governance expectations, and internal control requirements.
  • Implement the company performance management system for individuals within the department according to approved guidelines.
  • Monitor department KPIs linked to annual performance management contracts and balanced scorecard requirements.
  • Review and recommend department organization structure improvements to ensure effective use of human capital and alignment with business needs.
  • Incorporate sustainability into ongoing work practices and operating routines where relevant to department objectives.
  • Encourage innovation, employee motivation, and change management initiatives that improve department operations and service delivery.
  • Propose process improvements against best practices and ISO‑aligned standards to create practical solutions for operational challenges.
  • Support HSE culture within the department and ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, systems, controls, legislation, and sustainability guidelines.
  • Ensure department employees receive adequate HSE training and induction in line with required standards.
  • Prepare department MIS, progress reports, data quality updates, system performance summaries, and management information for accurate and timely decision‑making.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in commercial operations, ERP systems, data management, process governance, or commercial transformation.
  • Experience within the oil and gas sector is preferred.
  • Certification in Data Management or Process Improvement, such as Six Sigma or CDMP, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ERP‑enabled commercial operations, master data governance, workflow optimization, system controls, and data quality management.
  • Proven ability to standardize processes across multiple business units, Group Companies, or complex operating environments.
  • Experience managing ERP data structures, system integration points, reporting frameworks, data validation controls, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial processes, governance frameworks, internal controls, audit requirements, reporting needs, and performance tracking.
  • Ability to coordinate with Digital, Cyber Security, Finance, commercial teams, vendors, partners, regulatory bodies, and senior stakeholders.
  • Practical experience leading system enhancement planning, user adoption, transformation impact assessments, and business continuity planning during change.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data issues, process gaps, and system limitations into practical improvement actions.
