Job summary

7 Management is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to oversee and repair kitchen and bar equipment across our hospitality properties. You will ensure safety, reliability, and adherence to operational standards while supporting culinary and operations teams.

You will lead preventive maintenance, coordinate with suppliers, and maintain detailed records. A Diploma/Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration Engineering and 5+ years of experience are required to drive

• 5+ years’ experience maintaining and repairing commercial kitchen/bar equipment.
• Skilled in troubleshooting, installation, and preventive maintenance for hot & cold lines.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities with decision-making skills.
• Proven leadership in guiding and training junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and Repair: troubleshoot and repair kitchen and bar equipment; perform inspections and tests after repairs; lead preventive maintenance per schedule.
• Operational Support: collaborate with culinary and operations teams to address issues quickly; coordinate with suppliers/contractors for services or parts.
• Leadership and Guidance: mentor junior technicians and oversee work to meet quality and safety standards.
• Documentation and Reporting: maintain maintenance logs, service records, and repair histories; assist with lists of equipment and spare parts; report issues to Maintenance Manager.

Role Overview

The role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all kitchen and bar equipment to ensure uninterrupted and efficient operation across the property. This role ensures equipment safety, reliability, and compliance with operational standards while supporting the culinary and operations teams in delivering seamless service.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance and Repair: Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing all types of kitchen and bar equipment, including cold, hot, and dishwashing units. Ensures all equipment functions safely and efficiently, performing inspections and functionality tests after repairs. Leads preventive maintenance tasks as per schedule.
• Operational Support: Works closely with culinary and operations teams to address equipment issues promptly, minimizing disruption during service. Coordinates with suppliers and contractors for specialized services or spare parts when required.
• Leadership and Guidance: Provides technical support and guidance to junior technicians during maintenance, installation, and repair activities. Supervises tasks to ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintains accurate maintenance logs, service records, and repair histories. Assists in preparing equipment and spare part lists, and reports critical issues to the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration Engineering.
• 5+ years’ experience maintaining and repairing commercial kitchen/bar equipment.
• Skilled in troubleshooting, installation, and preventive maintenance for hot & cold lines.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proven leadership in guiding and training junior technicians.
• Experience with PPM, maintenance scheduling, and inventory control.
• Knowledge of control panels, sensors, gas/electrical systems, and water lines.
• Understanding of safety, HACCP, and compliance standards.
• Effective coordination with suppliers, contractors, and operations teams.
