Job summary

Emirates Airlines in Dubai is seeking a maintenance technician to plan and execute daily tasks in their area, ensuring high safety and quality standards. You will diagnose faults, repair equipment/vehicles, and maintain documentation in the maintenance system.

The role requires hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical systems, valid UAE driving license to operate equipment, and adherence to MOE, EASA / GCAA rules. This is a full-time position at our Dubai facility with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• 2 years Trade certificate in engineering required.
• 2 years experience in maintenance - Facilities/Auto/Electric Mechanic in large org., aviation ground support or cargo handling preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical/electronic/air-con & refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily tasks in own area.
• Maintain workshop housekeeping and care for tools.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults on equipment/vehicles to minimize downtime.
• Record work in log book / maintenance system for planning.
• Follow safety procedures to prevent injuries or damage.
• Inform supervisor when spare parts/tools are needed to complete maintenance.
• Assist in scheduled maintenance per standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in maintaining Ground Power Unit (GPU) and PCA units to standards.
• Operate access equipment and forklift to support maintenance activities.
• Operate and maintain neutralization plant.

Job Purpose

In this role you will:

• Plan individual tasks on a daily basis in their area of work.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of tools.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults/defects effectively on equipment/vehicles and plant under breakdown ensuring that down time is minimized.
• Ensure that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management System.
• Ensure that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment/vehicle and plant damage.
• Inform the Maintenance Technician/Senior Maintenance Technician of any spare parts & tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of all maintenance works.
• Assist in carrying out scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturers recommendation, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, and all Legal & regulatory requirements) on the various equipment / vehicles and plants to ensure reliable / optimum utilization of the same. Assists in the daily inspection of all equipment/vehicles and plant for operational reliability & safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the operational area.
• Assist in maintaining / repairing Ground Power Unit (GPU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) units to the acceptable standards.
• Operate access equipment and Fork lift to assist the maintenance activities.
• Operate and maintain neutralization plant.

Qualification

To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:

• 10 Years schooling or equivalent
• 2 years of experience in maintenance - Facilities / Auto / Electric Mechanic within a large maintenance organization, ideally aviation ground support and / or Cargo Handling Industry.
• Experience in maintenance of Ground Support.
• 2 years Trade certificate course in an engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of mechanical / electrical / electronic / automobile / air-con & refrigeration systems of Light
• Vehicles or Material Handling Equipment / Systems.
• Equipment or Heavy Vehicles or would be an advantage.
• Any specialized training on hydraulics / lifting equipment/conveyor systems/material handling equipment.
• PLC's / AC-DC motor control systems / Traction batteries & chargers would be an advantage.
• Proven ability to communicate in English (verbal & written).
• UAE Driving license / Home Country Driving License (not required in Cargo areas).
• Valid licence for operating equipment (ADP) (not required in Cargo areas).
• Good understanding of the MOE, EASA / GCAA regulation and safety standards required at the ULD.
• Workshop (applicable only for ULD section).
