Job summary

dnata is seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician to support technicians in scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, fault finding, and repair across equipment, vehicles and plant in our dnata Technical Services Workshops. You will assist with all maintenance tasks, ensure logs are updated, and uphold safety standards to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Plans daily tasks in area of work.

• Records maintenance activities in log book/Maintenance Management System.
• Follows safety procedures to prevent injury and damage.
• Notifies technicians of spare parts and tools needed.
• Carries out scheduled maintenance per standards and regulations.
• Assists in maintaining Ground Support Equipment or heavy vehicles.
• Assists in maintaining/repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing facilities.
• Maintains/repairs GPU, PCA, and generators.

As a Junior Maintenance Technician you will provide required support to Technicians and assist in carrying out all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair on all equipment /vehicles and plant maintained by various dnata Technical Services Workshops. This includes housekeeping and ad hoc tasks as assigned.

• Plans individual tasks on a daily basis in their area of work
• Maintains good housekeeping in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of tools.
• Assists in diagnosing and repairing faults/defects effectively on equipment/vehicles and plant under breakdown ensuring that down time is minimized.
• Ensures that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management System.
• Ensures that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment/vehicle and plant damage.
• Informs the Maintenance Technician/Senior Maintenance Technician of any spare parts & tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of all maintenance works.
• Assists in carrying out scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturers recommendation, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, and all Legal & regulatory requirements) on the various equipment/vehicles and plants to ensure reliable/optimum utilization of the same. Assists in the daily inspection of all equipment/vehicles and plant for operational reliability & safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the operational area.
• Executes all allocated tasks related to ULD Repairs/ Assembly activities as per the procedure mentioned in MOE, manufacturers recommendation, EASA/ GCAA regulation, and safety standards.
• Assist maintenance technicians to maintain/repair facility equipment's including HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing.
• Assist in maintaining/repairing Ground Power Unit (GPU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) and generators.

Qualification

• 2 plus years Experience in Facilities/Maintenance. Auto/Electric Mechanic
• 2 years Trade certificate course in an engineering
• Experience in maintenance - Facilities/ Auto/ Electric/ Civil Mechanic within a large maintenance organization, ideally aviation ground support and/or Cargo Handling Industry
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical/electronic/automobile/air-con & refrigeration systems of Light Vehicles or Material Handling Equipment/Systems. Experience in maintenance of Ground Support Equipment or Heavy Vehicles or would be an advantage.
• Any specialized training on hydraulics/lifting equipment/conveyor systems/material handling equipment/PLC's/AC-DC motor control systems/Traction batteries & chargers would be an advantage.
• Proven ability to communicate in English (verbal & written).
• UAE Driving license / Home Country Driving License (not required in Cargo areas)
• Valid licence for operating equipment (ADP) (not required in Cargo areas)
• Good understanding of the MOE, EASA/ GCAA regulation and safety standards required at the ULD
