Job summary

Emirates Airlines in Dubai is seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician - Fabrication to support technicians and assist in scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance of equipment and vehicles. You will log activities, ensure safety standards, and help with ULD repairs, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing tasks.

The role requires 4+ years in facilities/maintenance, a 2-year engineering trade certificate, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in facilities/maintenance, auto/electric mechanic background.
• 2-year trade certificate in engineering.
• Experience in large maintenance organizations, aviation ground support or cargo handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily tasks and maintain workshop housekeeping.
• Diagnose faults and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
• Record work in log books and maintenance systems for planning.
• Follow safety procedures to prevent injuries and damage.
• Assist in scheduled maintenance per MOE/EASA/GCAA regulations.
• Support in maintaining Ground Power Units, PCA units, HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
• Assist in ULD repairs/assembly as per MOE and safety standards.

This includes housekeeping and ad hoc tasks as assigned.In this role you will:

• Plans individual tasks on a daily basis in their area of work
• Maintains good housekeeping in the workshop other work areas and take proper care of tools.
• Assists in diagnosing and repairing faults/defects effectively on equipment/vehicles and plant under breakdown ensuring that down time is minimized.
• Ensures that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management System.
• Ensures that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment/vehicle and plant damage.
• Informs the Maintenance Technician/Senior Maintenance Technician of any spare parts tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of all maintenance works.
• Assists in carrying out scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturers recommendation, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, and all Legal regulatory requirements) on the various equipment/vehicles and plants to ensure reliable/optimum utilization of the same. Assists in the daily inspection of all equipment/vehicles and plant for operational reliability safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the operational area.
• Executes all allocated tasks related to ULD Repairs/ Assembly activities as per the procedure mentioned in MOE, manufacturers recommendation, EASA/ GCAA regulation, and safety standards.
• Assist maintenance technicians to maintain/repair facility equipments including HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing.
• Assist in maintaining/repairing Ground Power Unit (GPU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) and generators.

QualificationTo be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

• 4 plus years Experience in Facilities/Maintenance. Auto/Electric Mechanic
• 2 years Trade certificate course in an engineering
• Experience in maintenance - Facilities/ Auto/ Electric/ Civil Mechanic within a large maintenance organization, ideally aviation ground support and/or Cargo Handling Industry
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical/electronic/automobile/air-con refrigeration systems of Light Vehicles or Material Handling Equipment/Systems. Experience in maintenance of Ground Support Equipment or Heavy Vehicles or would be an advantage.
• Any specialized training on hydraulics/lifting equipment/conveyor systems/material handling equipment/PLCs/AC-DC motor control systems/Traction batteries chargers would be an advantage.
• Proven ability to communicate in English (verbal written).
• UAE Driving license / Home Country Driving License (not required in Cargo areas)
• Valid licence for operating equipment (ADP) (not required in Cargo areas)
• Good understanding of the MOE, EASA/ GCAA regulation and safety standards required at the ULD
• Workshop (applicable only for ULD section)
