Job summary

dnata is seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician in Dubai to support technicians in maintenance, fault finding, and repairs across a range of equipment, vehicles, and plants. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and timely completion of tasks.

Candidates should have a 2-year engineering trade certificate and at least 3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in aviation ground support or cargo handling; UAE driving license is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 2-year trade certificate in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a large organization, ideally aviation ground support or cargo handling.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians in diagnosing and repairing faults on equipment, vehicles and plants.
• Maintain log books and work orders; document maintenance activities.
• Follow standard safety procedures to prevent injuries and equipment damage.
• Advise on spare parts and tools needed to complete maintenance tasks.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance per manufacturers’ recommendations, ISO, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Perform daily inspections for reliability and safety to aid planning.
• Support ULD repairs/assembly per MOE, manufacturer and safety standards.
• Assist in maintaining facility equipment including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, GPU, PCA and generators.

As a Junior Maintenance Technician, you will provide required support to Technicians and assist in carrying out all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair on all equipment /vehicles and plant maintained by various dnata Technical Services Workshops. This includes housekeeping and ad hoc tasks as assigned.

• Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of tools.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults/defects effectively on equipment/vehicles and plant under breakdown ensuring that down time is minimized.
• Ensure that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the log book/work order to help planning staff log the details of work done in the Maintenance Management Systems
• Ensure that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or equipment/vehicle and plant damage.
• Inform the Maintenance Technician/Senior Maintenance Technician of any spare parts & tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of all maintenance works.
• Assist in carrying out scheduled maintenance as per set standards (includes manufacturers recommendation, ISO certification requirements, safety standards, and all Legal & regulatory requirements) on the various equipment/vehicles and plants to ensure reliable/optimum utilization of the same.
• Assist in the daily inspection of all equipment/vehicles and plant for operational reliability & safety, to help plan for corrective maintenance and to prevent accidents in the operational area.
• Execute all allocated tasks related to ULD Repairs/ Assembly activities as per the procedure mentioned in MOE, manufacturers recommendation, EASA/ GCAA regulation, and safety standards.
• Assist maintenance technicians to maintain/repair facility equipment's including HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing, as well as Ground Power Unit (GPU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) and generators.

Qualification

• Have completed a 2 years Trade certificate course in an engineering discipline.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in maintenance - Facilities, Auto, Electric, Civil, Mechanic within a large maintenance organization, ideally aviation ground support and, or Cargo Handling Industry.

Additional Consideration Will Be Given To Candidates Who

• Have knowledge of mechanical/electrical/electronic/automobile/air-con & refrigeration systems of Light Vehicles or Material Handling Equipment/Systems. Experience in maintenance of Ground Support Equipment or Heavy Vehicles or would be an advantage.
• Have any specialized training on hydraulics/lifting equipment/conveyor systems/material handling equipment/PLC's/AC-DC motor control systems/Traction batteries & chargers would be an advantage.
• Have proven ability to communicate in English (verbal & written).
• Have a UAE Driving license , Home Country Driving License (not required in Cargo areas)
• Have a valid licence for operating equipment (ADP) (not required in Cargo areas)
