Job summary

SO/ Uptown Dubai is seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer to oversee mechanical, electrical, and structural systems at our Dubai property. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and coordinate with contractors to minimize downtime.

The role requires 3-5 years in facility management or industrial settings, knowledge of building codes, and proficiency with diagnostic tools and hand/power tools.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance/technical experience in facility management or industrial environments.
• Experience maintaining plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and machinery.
• Proficient with hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong understanding of building codes, blueprints, and manuals.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills and ability to document maintenance records.

We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of our facility's mechanical, electrical, and structural systems. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to maintain our infrastructure to the highest standards while adhering to local building codes and safety regulations. • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, machinery, and building structures in accordance with blueprints, technical manuals, and established protocols
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using analytical skills and troubleshooting techniques, then implement timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime
• Install, repair, and replace electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repairs to support data-driven decision-making and predictive maintenance planning
• Operate hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic equipment, with precision and safety awareness
• Collaborate with team members and external contractors to coordinate maintenance schedules and complex repair projects

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance and/or technical experience in a facility management or industrial environment
• Proven expertise in maintaining and repairing plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, and general machinery
• Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Solid understanding of building codes, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple maintenance tasks and prioritize effectively
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records
• Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and stakeholders
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and best practices
• Familiarity with local Dubai building codes and climate-related maintenance considerations is a plus
• Relevant technical certifications or licenses (such as electrical or plumbing credentials) are preferred but not required
• Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions
