M&V Engineer – Measurement & Verification

Job summary

Pactive Sustainable Solutions is seeking an experienced M&V Engineer to lead measurement and verification of energy savings across ESCO and EPC projects. You will develop IPMVP-based M&V plans, define baselines and adjustment methodologies, and build and validate energy models.

The role requires 4–6 years in energy engineering with hands-on M&V, CMVP/PMVA certification, and strong IPMVP knowledge. You will support reporting, disputes, and contract discussions with solid technical justification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering.
• 4–6 years in energy engineering with hands-on M&V.
• CMVP or PMVA certification (mandatory).
• Strong IPMVP knowledge and savings calculation methods.
• Experience with ESCO/EPC savings guarantees and performance-based contracts.
• Understanding of HVAC, chillers, district cooling, lighting, controls and tariffs.
• Strong analytical, reporting and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IPMVP-based M&V plans (Options A–D) for ESCO and EPC projects.
• Define measurement boundaries, baselines and adjustment methodologies per contract.
• Build and validate regression/energy models with adjustments.
• Calculate, verify and reconcile guaranteed energy and cost savings against targets.
• Verify ECM installation and performance via site inspections and monitoring.
• Define metering, sub-metering and BMS/EMS data requirements and ensure data quality.
• Prepare periodic M&V and savings reports for clients, regulators and management.
• Support savings disputes and contract discussions with technical justification.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IPMVP-based M&V plans (Options A, B, C, D) for ESCO and Energy Performance Contracts (EPC)
• Define measurement boundaries, baselines, and adjustment methodologies in line with contract requirements
• Build and validate regression/energy models, including routine and non-routine adjustments
• Calculate, verify, and reconcile guaranteed energy and cost savings against contractual targets
• Verify ECM installation and performance through site inspections, measurements, and monitoring
• Define metering, sub-metering, and BMS/EMS data requirements and ensure data quality
• Prepare periodic M&V and savings reports for clients, regulators, and management
• Support savings disputes and contract discussions with sound technical justification

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical/Energy Engineering or related field
• 4-6 years of experience in energy engineering, including hands-on M&V
• CMVP or PMVA certification (mandatory)

Preferred

• ESCO/EPC project experience in the UAE or GCC
• CEM certification
• Arabic speaking
