Job summary

KN International Architects and Engineers LLC in Abu Dhabi seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) to oversee infrastructure and building services on major projects. The role requires extensive M&E expertise and coordination with contractors, consultants, and authorities.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years’ UAE experience in infrastructure and building services, including pumping stations and fluid mechanics, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure and building services, preferably within the UAE.
• Previous experience working with TAQA WS.
• Strong technical expertise in pumping stations, fluid mechanics, and M&E systems.
• Proven experience in construction supervision, quality control, and contract administration.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in managing mechanical and electrical (M&E) infrastructure and building services projects.
• Oversee and coordinate pumping stations, fluid mechanics, and related systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and local regulations.
• Supervise the contractor’s work, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, safety standards, and quality control measures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress monitoring to ensure timely completion of M&E systems.
• Manage and respond to RFIs, submittals, and technical queries related to mechanical and electrical works.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review project documentation, including material approvals, method statements, and shop drawings.
• Identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project efficiency.
• Attend weekly and monthly progress meetings, providing technical input and status updates.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on-site.
