Job summary

InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort & Spa is seeking a meticulous Purchasing Buyer to join our team. You will source products, obtain quotes, and manage purchase orders while coordinating with hotel departments to ensure quality, quantity and timely delivery.

Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor and Purchasing Manager, you will help secure value and compliance with hotel policies. A Diploma or equivalent in Purchasing or related field and hospitality experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Previous purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment
• Good understanding of sourcing, quotations, purchase orders and supplier coordination
• Strong attention to detail with good organisational and follow‑up skills
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple purchase requests and work within deadlines
• Comfortable using purchasing, inventory and Microsoft Office systems
• A team player who can work closely with operational departments and suppliers
• Good written and spoken English
• Flexibility to support operational requirements when needed

Responsibilities

• Sourcing products and obtaining competitive quotations from approved and potential suppliers
• Comparing prices, quality, specifications, availability and delivery timelines to support purchasing decisions
• Preparing and processing purchase orders accurately and within required timelines
• Coordinating with departments to understand specifications, quantities and operational requirements
• Following up with suppliers on pending orders, deliveries and any quality or supply concerns
• Maintaining professional and ethical relationships with suppliers
• Keeping supplier information, purchase orders, quotations and supporting documents accurate and properly filed
• Monitoring pending purchase requisitions and outstanding or unserved purchase orders
• Supporting the Purchasing Supervisor and Purchasing Manager with day-to-day procurement activities and cost‑saving opportunities
• Ensuring purchasing activities follow hotel policies, approval procedures and internal controls
