Horace Mann is seeking a seasoned Life and Retirement product strategist to lead competitive intelligence efforts and shape product strategy. You will coordinate benchmarking, analyze market trends, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into actionable requirements and improved illustration tooling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in Life and/or Retirement product management, competitive intelligence, or product strategy.
• Strong understanding of Life & Retirement products and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex priorities with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct competitive analysis and industry product analytics to identify market trends
• Provide insights to inform Life & Retirement product strategy and positioning
• Coordinate monthly competitive benchmarking for life and annuity crediting rates
• Lead development of competitive intelligence reports and benchmarking tools
• Facilitate cross-functional discussions to gather business requirements and ensure alignment
• Provide support and oversight for illustration modifications and enhancements
• Identify opportunities to improve product development processes and illustration system functionality
