Responsibilities

• The primary responsibility of the Librarian will be to provide library services, including cataloguing, researching, reference services, circulation services, interlibrary loans and special collections.
• The librarian will be responsible for maintaining library materials including books, periodicals, electronic resources and audio-visual materials.
• The position also requires the ability to maintain accurate records for library statistics such as circulation figures and item availability.
• Other duties include providing instruction on library resources to students and faculty members as well as giving presentations on various topics related to the field of librarianship.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate must possess at least 3 years of professional experience in a library setting or a related field.
• They should have strong organizational skills with attention to detail and be comfortable using computers for cataloguing purposes.
• A degree or diploma in Library Science or Information Studies is preferred but not essential for this role.
• Additionally, excellent communication skills are needed in order to interact effectively with staff members at all levels within the organization as well as external stakeholders when required.
