Librarian - Dubai

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team in Dubai. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collection of materials, providing reference services to patrons, and overseeing the library's operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and organize the library's collection of materials, including books, journals, audiovisual materials, and online resources
• Develop and maintain an efficient cataloging system for easy retrieval of materials
• Provide reference services to patrons by assisting with research inquiries and recommending relevant resources
• Monitor library inventory levels and make recommendations for new acquisitions based on user needs
• Plan and conduct library programs and events to promote literacy and engage with the community
• Train library staff on proper cataloging procedures and use of library software systems
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the library, including circulation, shelving, and maintenance of equipment
• Stay updated on current trends in library science and implement new technologies or practices as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a library setting
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Experience working with diverse populations is preferred

Salary: 1400$ per month (tax-free)

Location: Dubai, UAE

Nationality Preference: Indian (open to other nationalities with relevant experience)
