We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team in Dubai, UAE. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Librarian to work in a multicultural environment and contribute to the growth of our library.

As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting library services and resources. Your role will also involve developing and implementing programs and activities to engage the community and enhance their knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the library collection by selecting, acquiring, cataloging, classifying, and weeding materials according to established standards
• Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries by providing accurate information and guidance on using library resources
• Promote library services through various channels such as social media, events, and outreach programs
• Develop and implement programs and activities that cater to the needs of different age groups in the community
• Train and supervise library staff on proper procedures for circulation, cataloging, shelving, etc.
• Collaborate with other departments to support their information needs
• Keep track of library statistics to evaluate usage trends and make recommendations for improvements
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and trends in the library field to enhance services

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field is required
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Librarian in a similar setting
• Familiarity with current cataloging standards (e.g. MARC) is preferred
• Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Arabic is an advantage)
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
• Knowledge of current information technologies and their applications in libraries
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Flexible schedule including weekends/evenings may be required
