Lead Weight Control Engineer – Offshore Gas CAP

Job summary

Wood in the Middle East is seeking an experienced PMC Lead Weight Control Engineer (Greenfield) for Gas CAP FEED projects offshore. You will lead weight control across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation, ensuring CoG targets and accurate reporting.

With 15+ years in oil/gas weight control and familiarity with SPI/AVEVA tools, you will coordinate with multiple disciplines and review contractor methodologies to ensure compliant weight data and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering within oil & gas.
• Experience on ADNOC offshore projects or similar Middle East offshore developments is highly preferred.
• Strong experience in detailed design engineering for offshore facilities including topsides, jackets, modules, platforms, and brownfield modifications.
• Proficiency with SPI, AVEVA Instrumentation, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks and related design/document management systems.
• Solid understanding of ISA, IEC, API, NFPA and ADNOC standards.
• Experience with instrument sizing, control valve selection, shutdown systems and hazardous areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the Weight Control Management Plan for offshore gas cap facilities.
• Establish weight budgets and monitor compliance through FEED to installation.
• Maintain the Weight Control Register and track equipment, structural, piping weights.
• Monitor weight growth and identify potential exceedances.
• Perform weight estimates, reports, load summaries and reconciliations.
• Coordinate weight inputs across disciplines to ensure accurate reporting.
• Review EPC contractor weight control methodologies and deliverables.
• Conduct periodic audits of contractor weight control systems.
