Position Overview: Lead Utilities Engineer – RTA Roads and Bridges at AECOM Dubai supports complex transportation corridor projects by overseeing wet and dry utility coordination, protection, and diversion works. This senior role ensures full compliance with RTA standards and local authority regulations while managing multidisciplinary interfaces across roads, traffic management, and infrastructure systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate utility protection, diversion, and reinstatement works within RTA road corridors
• Ensure compliance with RTA corridor layouts, depth clearances, and reinstatement requirements
• Interface with traffic staging and management plans to ensure safe execution near live roads
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for utilities and MEP systems
• Coordinate with RTA, DEWA, Etisalat, DU, and Dubai Municipality for NOCs and inspections
• Manage interface coordination between utilities, civil works, structural components, and roadworks
• Conduct site inspections, issue site instructions and NCRs, and follow up on corrective actions
• Verify testing and commissioning activities including pressure testing, flushing, and energization
• Monitor contractor performance against quality, safety, and schedule targets
• Track long‑lead items, authority approvals, and material deliveries to mitigate risks
• Review as‑built documentation, O & M manuals, and support project close‑out activities
• Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers and inspectors

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of relevant utilities experience in major infrastructure projects
• At least 5 years of Dubai experience with RTA project exposure
• Strong coordination experience with multiple utility authorities
• Previous RTA approval advantageous
• UAE Society of Engineers membership preferred
