Job summary

EDGE, based in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a Senior Special Processes Manager to lead greenfield setup, equipment investment, and process development for aerospace special processes including shot peening, coatings, heat treatment, brazing, and surface processing.

You will drive NPI, industrialization, and production readiness, collaborating with design, quality, supply chain, partners, and vendors to achieve robust, cost‑effective, and NADCAP‑compliant capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace or related field.
• 10+ years in aerospace or propulsion manufacturing with special processes.
• Experience greenfield setup, capital investment, and industrialization.
• Hands-on expertise in at least two aerospace special processes.
• Proven leadership in NPI and concurrent engineering environments.
• Knowledge of NADCAP and aerospace quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead greenfield establishment of in-house special process capabilities.
• Define equipment and environmental requirements for new cells.
• Lead make-versus-buy evaluations and capability development.
• Develop capital investment plans for equipment and tooling.
• Coordinate technology transfer from external partners.
• Lead development and qualification of aerospace processes.
• Define manufacturing routings, specs, control plans.
• Establish process capability requirements and monitoring methods.
• Oversee NPI from prototype to production readiness.
• Own focal point for engine modules and development programs.
• Ensure process readiness aligns with schedules and certifications.
• Lead concurrent engineering with design teams.
• Develop process specs and special process requirements.
• Develop supplier capability assessments and audits.
• Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement.
• Mentor team, training, certifications.
• Ensure NADCAP readiness.
