Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience across full lifecycle.
• Background or working knowledge of cybersecurity practices preferred.
• Proven production systems ownership and live troubleshooting experience.
• Prior experience with AI-related projects is a plus.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring / Spring Boot; proficient in Python and React.js.
• Kubernetes expertise; cloud infrastructure across Azure and OCI.
• Solid grounding in software design and system architecture principles.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead technically while maintaining coding focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software development, including design, coding, testing, deployment and production support.
• Own and evolve system architecture and infrastructure for scalable, resilient applications.
• Provide L2/L3 production support with hands-on troubleshooting and RCA for critical incidents.
• Mentor and unblock engineers; guide teams through complex technical decisions.
• Design and implement full-stack solutions from backend to frontend.

Help AG is looking for a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to serve as a core technical anchor for our engineering team. This role blends deep, end-to-end/full-stack software development with technical leadership — you'll be expected to write production code, own system architecture and infrastructure decisions, mentor engineers, and provide expert-level (L2/L3) production support, including root cause analysis on critical issues.

This is not a purely managerial role. We need someone who still enjoys being in the code, can dive into production incidents, and can guide a team through complex technical decisions with credibility earned through hands-on expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software development activities: design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Own and evolve system architecture and infrastructure for scalable, resilient applications.
• Provide L2/L3 production support, including hands-on troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical incidents.
• Act as the technical backbone of the team — guide, mentor, and unblock other engineers on complex problems.
• Design and implement full-stack solutions, from backend services to front-end interfaces.
• Work on AI-driven projects and initiatives, integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and networking components, including NSGs, ingress controllers, proxies, and application gateways.
• Drive DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, with a strong focus on Azure DevOps.
• Support the wider engineering team, internal stakeholders, and customers with technical guidance and issue resolution.

Qualifications & Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, covering the full software development lifecycle.
• Background or working knowledge of cybersecurity practices and principles preferred.
• Proven experience owning production systems, including direct involvement in troubleshooting live production issues.
• Prior experience working on AI-related projects.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring / Spring Boot.
• Working proficiency in Python.
• Front-end development experience with React.js.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Cloud infrastructure expertise across Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Good networking knowledge: NSGs, ingress, proxies, and application gateways.
• Expert-level DevOps experience, particularly with Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Solid grounding in software design and system architecture principles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and technically mentor a team of engineers.
• Excellent communication skills, with an energetic, ownership-driven attitude.
