Job summary

Consultant HSS in Dubai is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (MEP) to lead building and infrastructure design. You will prepare calculations, sizing, and schedules for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems, ensuring alignment with Dubai regulations and client specs.

You will coordinate across disciplines, review drawings and submittals, and guide junior engineers and BIM teams to deliver integrated designs for multidisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10–15 years of professional experience in MEP engineering design.
• Consultancy experience on multidisciplinary projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, firefighting, energy efficiency and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and undertake mechanical engineering design for buildings and infra projects.
• Prepare heat load calculations, hydraulic calculations, pipe and duct sizing, schematics and schedules.
• Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and fuel gas distribution systems.
• Review codes, standards, and client specs; ensure UAE compliance.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical and BIM teams; review drawings and submittals.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve design issues with junior engineers and PMs.

Lead and undertake mechanical engineering design for building and infrastructure-related projects Prepare heat load calculations hydraulic calculations pipe sizing duct sizing specifications schematics and schedules Design and coordinate HVAC plumbing drainage fire protection and fuel gas distribution systems Review project requirements applicable codes authority regulations green building standards and client specifications Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural structural electrical infrastructure and other disciplines Review mechanical drawings technical submittals equipment selections chillers AHUs pumps etc and design documentation Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and BIM teams Ensure designs comply with UAE regulations e g Dubai Municipality DCD Al Sa fat international standards ASHRAE NFPA CIBSE and authority requirements Attend technical meetings with clients contractors authorities and project stakeholders Support project managers in resolving technical and mechanical design issues

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Experience: 10–15 years of professional experience in mechanical (MEP) engineering design.
• Consultancy Experience: Strong experience within an engineering consultancy and multidisciplinary projects.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, thermal load calculations, plumbing, firefighting systems, energy efficiency, and relevant standards.
• Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HAP (Hourly Analysis Program). Navisworks experience is highly desirable.
• Local Expertise: Strong understanding of UAE authority requirements, codes (Dubai Civil Defense, DM, DEWA), standards, and approval processes.
• Leadership: Ability to independently manage mechanical design packages and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
