Client of WhiteCrow Research is seeking a seniorMechanical Engineering leader to oversee all mechanical disciplines for large-scale real estate and infrastructure developments in Dubai. You will guide design, review technical deliverables, manage consultants and contractors, and ensure compliance with UAE regulations, codes, and sustainability goals.

You will drive value through design optimization, risk management, and team leadership, delivering buildable, maintainable systems from concept

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree in Engineering/Business Administration preferred
• Professional registration with a recognized engineering institution preferred
• 12–15 years in mechanical building services or related real estate/infrastructure projects
• At least 5 years in a senior management or discipline leadership role
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating consultants/contractors in UAE or GCC

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic leadership and governance for all mechanical disciplines from concept to handover
• Lead value engineering, due diligence, and option assessments to optimize capex, Opex, energy, and reliability
• Ensure mechanical works comply with UAE regulations, codes, and life-safety standards
• Manage budgets, variations, claims, procurement evaluations, and protect commercial interests
• Develop team capability and foster accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and technical governance for all mechanical disciplines including HVAC public health plumbing drainage fire protection and associated systems from concept design through final handover and defect liability close-out Direct consultants and project teams to deliver coordinated buildable sustainable and lifecycle-cost-effective designs aligned with development briefs asset standards approved budgets and project programmes Own the technical review and approval of mechanical design deliverables specifications calculations BIM models tender documents IFC packages shop drawings material submittals and method statements Lead value engineering technical due diligence and option assessments to optimize capital expenditure operating costs energy performance maintainability and asset reliability without compromising quality or compliance Ensure all mechanical works comply with UAE regulations relevant authority requirements applicable codes fire and life-safety standards sustainability commitments and approved project specifications Monitor contractor and consultant performance identify emerging technical cost quality and programme risks and drive timely corrective action escalation and recovery plans Lead site inspections and technical audits to verify workmanship installation quality system integration and compliance ensure NCRs RFIs design changes and technical issues are resolved within agreed timelines Oversee testing commissioning performance verification authority inspections training documentation asset data warranties and handover requirements to achieve operational readiness and timely project acceptance Manage mechanical budgets technical variations claims support and procurement evaluations providing clear recommendations that protect the company s commercial and contractual interests Develop team capability through clear objectives coaching performance management resource planning and succession development while fostering accountability collaboration and technical excellence

Requirements
