Job summary

NMDC ENERGY PJSC in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Offshore Construction professional to lead and manage complex offshore oil and gas projects. You will oversee construction planning, subcontractor coordination, and interface with engineering, procurement and field teams for safe, timely delivery.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 10+ years in offshore construction, strong commercial acumen, and outstanding English communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist OCM in offshore deliverables, kick-off and strategy meetings.
  • Support offshore execution planning, schedules and techno‑commercial analyses.
  • Review engineering docs and construction activities from a constructability perspective.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, procurement and internal teams.
  • Prepare detailed scopes, micro‑schedules and interface documents for offshore works.
  • Attend meetings and monitor progress, safety and quality compliance.
  • Support mobilization plans, invoicing reviews and project close‑out actions.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO requirements and company HSEMS.

Job Responsibilities
Start-Up Phase
  • Assist OCM in preparing offshore project deliverables and attending project kick-off and strategy meetings.
  • Support development of offshore execution plans, construction schedules and techno-commercial analyses considering project milestones and barge availability.
All Project Phases
  • Assist OCM in preparing construction aids, load register, marine spread requirements, pipe coating scope and monitor fabrication pipe coating progress.
  • Review engineering documents, drawings and analyses from a constructability perspective.
  • Support preparation of detailed scopes, schedules and interface bridging documents for offshore subcontracted works excluding diving and NDT and coordinate technical and commercial evaluations.
  • Act as focal point for subcontractor coordination when assigned, monitoring progress and performance.
  • Support issuance of Purchase Requisitions for offshore materials not covered by engineering and follow up with procurement on ordering and delivery.
  • Coordinate offshore scope activities with all internal departments.
  • Attend methods and constructability meetings and review installation procedures, anchor patterns and drawings.
  • Assist in technical evaluation expediting receipt and MRV approval of offshore materials.
  • Provide input to weekly and monthly reports and attend client meetings as required.
  • Support studies for changes in offshore execution plans including preparation of bridging documents, micro-schedules and method statements.
  • Liaise with third‑party agencies and marine warranty surveyors on marine and construction matters.
  • Attend weekly progress meetings with VPOO OCM and highlight issues and risks.
  • Ensure implementation of the project safety plan, company HSEMS and quality standards.
  • Capture lessons learned and best practices and participate in quality audits and close‑out actions.
  • Initiate offshore variation orders claims, compile technical inputs and support assignment of offshore durations.
  • Assist in reviewing subcontractor invoices and provide clarifications to finance.
  • Prepare and coordinate mobilization plans and support mobilization meetings with marine and field teams.
Pre‑Offshore Phase
  • Prepare the Risk Assessment Register, attend RA meetings and circulate consolidated comments to the client and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare job cards for offshore hook‑up works and develop detailed micro‑schedules and manpower histograms for shutdown activities.
  • Prepare JUB specifications for hired marine spread in line with CHOD requirements.
  • Coordinate with OPE to ensure readiness and mobilization of all installation aids.
  • Ensure timely pre‑installation load‑out activities and availability of latest approved offshore documentation onboard.
Offshore Execution Phase
  • Assist in updating offshore schedules based on progress and resource availability and propose recovery measures for delays.
  • Support coordination of subcontractor mobilization, demobilization and performance evaluation.
  • Monitor daily offshore operations, attend daily meetings and coordinate closely with clients, marine and field teams.
  • Conduct HSE audits and safety tours on offshore spreads.
  • Interface with project and yard construction teams to maintain load‑out dates and offshore continuity.
  • Conduct joint walk‑throughs on fabricated structures to avoid offshore carry‑over.
  • For hook‑up scope coordinate with EI commissioning and project teams to ensure JUB efficiency and compliance with CHOD durations reporting potential delays in advance.
Close‑Out Phase
  • Assist in preparation of offshore final documentation and project close‑out reports.
  • Review contract documents and drawings to identify constructability issues and variation requirements.
  • Support Construction Managers in directing offshore activities ensuring resource availability, safety compliance and adherence to contract and ISO requirements.
  • Assist in schedule adjustments to manage changes, delays and contingencies while controlling cost.
