Job summary

Duncan & Ross is seeking a highly experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer specializing in static equipment for a large gas processing facility in the United Arab Emirates. You will oversee static equipment engineering activities ensuring technical integrity throughout design, procurement, and review stages. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 15 years of experience in oil & gas or petrochemical projects, with extensive knowledge of ASME standards. Fluency in Arabic is preferred.

Lead Mechanical Engineer - Static

We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer specializing in static equipment to oversee all static equipment engineering activities on a large gas processing facility project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the technical integrity of all static equipment design, procurement, and engineering reviews.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and review of static equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, tanks, and fired heaters
• Develop and review equipment datasheets, specifications, and requisitions
• Perform and review pressure vessel and heat exchanger design calculations in accordance with ASME, PD 5500, or equivalent
• Evaluate vendor technical proposals and conduct technical bid evaluations (TBE)
• Review vendor drawings, design reports, and material documentation
• Coordinate with process, piping, and structural disciplines on equipment interfaces
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications
• Provide technical support during fabrication, inspection, and commissioning stages

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of experience in static equipment engineering for oil & gas or petrochemical projects; specialist-level candidates also considered
• Extensive experience in pressure vessel and heat exchanger design to ASME, TEMA, and API standards
• Familiarity with ADNOC gas processing projects is highly advantageous
• Knowledge of material selection for sour service, high-temperature, and high-pressure applications
• Prior involvement in mega gas processing facility projects is a strong advantage
• Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred
