Job summary

Confidential is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and manage mechanical works at construction sites in Dubai, covering HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage and fire fighting.

You will review drawings and submissions, coordinate with civil, architectural and electrical teams, liaise with consultants and authorities, supervise testing and commissioning, and ensure strict regulatory and HSE compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience on large MEP construction projects.
• Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and chilled water systems.
• Thorough knowledge of UAE authority approval processes (DCD, DM, DEWA, Civil Defense).
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; familiarity with mechanical codes and standards.
• Proven leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills; ability to handle senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end execution of mechanical systems (HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, drainage and fire fighting).
• Review, approve and control shop drawings, method statements, submittals, and technical submissions.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specs, contracts, and timelines.
• Coordinate with civil, architectural, electrical and other MEP disciplines to resolve clashes.
• Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors and authorities to close technical issues and approvals.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations (Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, etc.).
• Monitor progress, manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance.
• Identify issues early and provide technical solutions and value engineering proposals.
• Maintain strict HSE standards on site.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress reports.
