Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi seeks a Principal Systems Engineer - Landing Gear to lead the design, integration and verification of landing gear systems for UAV/aerospace platforms. You will drive system architecture, requirements, interfaces and verification across the lifecycle, coordinating with structural, mechanical, avionics, safety and certification teams.

The role demands 15+ years of aerospace systems engineering with strong landing gear experience, MBSE know-how, and robust supplier management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• 15+ years aerospace systems engineering experience, incl. 8+ years landing gear design/integration.
• Experience on UAV/aircraft/rotorcraft programmes.
• Safety-critical aerospace system development experience.
• Lifecycle engineering: requirements, design, integration, verification, validation.
• Knowledge of landing gear systems and interfaces.
• Experience with mechanical/electrical/hydraulic interfaces.
• MBSE, V-model, requirements management, system safety.
• Experience with DOORS or equivalent tools.
• Experience managing aerospace suppliers.
• Awareness of aerospace standards and regulations.
• Fluent English communication.
• Willingness to relocate to UAE and obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead landing gear system architecture, design and integration.
• Define and manage system requirements and baselines.
• Develop interfaces between landing gear, hydraulics, avionics and control systems.
• Lead sizing and configuration trade-off studies.
• Manage requirements traceability and verification.
• Support loads analyses and safety activities (FHA, FMEA, PSSA).
• Develop and manage verification/validation plans.
• Support ground/flight testing and data analysis.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and regulations.
• Manage supplier/design reviews and qualifications.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
