Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer for a large-scale gas processing project in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on delivering Health, Safety and Environment excellence, managing change impacts, and ensuring site-wide compliance across the EPCM program.

You will work with project teams to implement policies, conduct audits, and train staff, while coordinating with client and leadership to uphold safety standards and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related.
• 6 yrs + experience in HSE.
• A solid understanding of organizational change
• Excellent active listening skills
• Worked exclusively at site location
• Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
• Ability to engage with senior leadership
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills
• Resilient with ability to work with challenging stakeholders who are often averse to change
• Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with others
• Ability to facilitate workshops, documenting the future state business processes and change impacts

Responsibilities

• Provide HSE guidance on legislation, company policies and client requirements.
• Support a team of engineers to assist in the delivery of Wood EPCM projects.
• Provide visibility and interface of the HSE function and collaborate with the wider team.
• Develop HSE Assurance Plan and deliver high risk audits.
• Advise site management in Safety & Environmental Plans, Risk Assessments and method statements.
• Support on-site policy development and implementation of HSE procedures.
• Prepare safety and environmental reports as required and conduct audits/inspections.
• Deliver training courses / toolbox talks to ensure HSE knowledge.
• Interface with client HSE teams and drive behavioural culture change.
