Job summary

Remotedxb is seeking an experienced backend engineering lead to drive architecture and technical strategy across the team. You will own backend services built with Node.js/NestJS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance while coordinating with frontend leads for smooth integration.

The role requires 5+ years in backend development and 2+ years in leadership, with strong SQL (PostgreSQL) and distributed systems expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• 2+ years in leadership or technical lead role.
• Proficiency in Node.js and NestJS (Express).
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, security and performance.
• Relational databases expertise, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with unit/integration/e2e testing.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Hands-on CI/CD, cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and IaC.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English.

• Act as the Engineering lead within a squad, guiding the team on architectural decisions and technical execution
• Collaborate closely with frontend technical leads to ensure smooth integration
• Lead the technical strategy for backend development, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
• Own the architecture and design of backend services using Node.js and NestJS

• Ensure system reliability through well-structured testing, monitoring, and logging strategies
• Mentor and coach backend developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development
• 2+ years in a leadership or technical lead role
• Strong expertise in Node.js and NestJS (Express)
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design, security, and performance optimization
• Advanced knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
• Experience implementing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks
• Expertise in microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (preferably GCP), and IaC
• Proficiency in Spanish and English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or PubSub
• Exposure to serverless computing and cloud-native development patterns
