Job summary

NMDC Dredging & Marine in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Computational Design Specialist to lead and deploy advanced design tools across the group. You will collaborate with the Head of Engineering to identify automation opportunities and implement parametric workflows that improve project outcomes.

The role requires 6+ years in engineering design, expertise in Rhino/Grasshopper/Tekla/Revit and coding in C# or Python, with a focus on reusable libraries and data-driven design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Computational Design, Computer Science or related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in engineering and design, focusing on computational design, digital engineering and automation.
• Proven experience with parametric workflows and development of automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of BIM standards and platforms (Tekla, Revit) and related workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Head of Engineering and Engineering Managers to identify opportunities for developing computational design tools.
• Lead development, deployment and continuous improvement of computational design tools across NMDC Group.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend technology solutions to address client needs and project challenges.
• Bridge design and technology by applying computational methods to optimize projects.
• Develop parametric models and design tools to drive automation and efficiency in maritime engineering.
• Create and maintain scalable engineering libraries using programming languages.
• Champion BIM adoption and integrate computational workflows with Tekla and Revit.
• Apply data analysis, simulation and modelling to support decisions.
• Communicate concepts and results clearly to clients and stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver training programs to enhance capability and promote best practices.
