Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Resident Engineer - Civil to lead overhead transmission line projects on-site in Abu Dhabi. You will oversee EPC civil works, supervise contractors, manage daily construction activities, and ensure compliance with drawings, ITPs, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required; Master's preferred.
• PE license is advantageous and may be required.
• Minimum 15 years of civil engineering experience focused on overhead transmission line projects.
• Experience with transmission line design, construction, and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical leader on-site for EPC civil works, supervising contractors and daily OHL construction activities.
• Inspect and approve civil works (earthworks, foundations, access roads, drainage) per drawings, statements, and ITPs.
• Review and approve civil drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and geotechnical reports.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and UAE safety regulations; promote safety culture.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams; attend progress meetings; submit progress reports.
• Coordinate permits/NOCs; maintain site documentation (RFIs, NCRs).
• Procure materials, equipment, and services with suppliers and vendors.
• Conduct site inspections, HSE audits, QA checks; review progress and verify as-built docs.
• Provide technical guidance to project team; resolve disputes and mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.
• Foster safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement among team members.
• Maintain complete project records and proper handover on closeout.
