Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Resident Engineer - Civil to lead overhead transmission line projects from initiation through closeout. You will manage scope, schedules, budgets, and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders while ensuring QMS/ITPs and HSE standards are met.

The role requires 15+ years in civil engineering for OHL projects, proficiency in PLS-CADD/PLS-POLE/AutoCAD, and willingness to travel to sites. Leadership and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of civil engineering experience, focusing on overhead transmission line projects.
• Extensive knowledge of transmission line design, construction, and maintenance, including tower configurations.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of overhead transmission line projects from initiation to closeout.
• On-site technical leadership; supervise contractors and daily construction activities.
• Inspect civil works, review drawings and submittals, ensure ITPs and approvals.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders; prepare progress reports.
• Maintain HSE compliance and safety culture; ensure environmental permits.
• Prepare as-built documents, closeout packages and project records.
