Job summary

GroTech Search is seeking a Lead Architect in Dubai to translate design intent into technical deliverables and coordinate architectural works across design and construction. You will work with internal teams, consultants and site teams to deliver fully coordinated drawings and oversee on-site implementation.

The role supports the Design Manager and Principal Architect in maintaining high architectural quality and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of architectural experience with strong technical delivery background.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and production of architectural drawings, including Shop Drawings, during design, schematic and detailed design stages.
• Coordinate with consultants, MEP engineers, structural teams and other stakeholders for drawing integration.
• Conduct technical reviews of all architectural documentation for precision and clarity.
• Review and validate Shop Drawings submitted by contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Identify and resolve clashes in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure timely delivery of design packages and revisions in line with project timelines.
• Oversee transition from design to construction and on-site implementation of Shop Drawings.
• Attend site visits, inspections and coordination meetings to monitor progress and resolve design issues.
• Provide technical support to site teams and ensure alignment with design expectations.
• Ensure all architectural work complies with local codes and company standards.
• Assist in permits and approvals documentation as needed.
• Participate in design QA/QC processes to ensure consistent outputs.

Role focus: Design Development & Technical Coordination

Role Overview

The Lead Architect plays a critical role in translating design intent into technical deliverables and ensuring the successful coordination of architectural works across both design and construction phases. This position involves close collaboration with internal teams, consultants and site teams to deliver accurate and fully coordinated drawings and oversee implementation on-site.

The Lead Architect supports the Design Manager and Principal Architect in maintaining the highest standards of architectural quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in architectural practice with strong technical delivery background
• Proven track record working on large-scale residential or mixed-use developments in the UAE
• Expert knowledge of Shop Drawing production, coordination, and review processes
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM coordination tools
• In-depth understanding of UAE building codes, regulations, and authority approval processes
• Extensive experience coordinating with MEP, structural, and façade consultants
• Demonstrated ability to manage drawing packages from design through construction stages
• Experience conducting site inspections and resolving on-site technical issues
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and buildability
• Excellent attention to detail with rigorous QA/QC approach
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder and contractor coordination
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight project deadlines
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture (mandatory)
• Professional registration or accreditation (preferred)
• Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage)
