Job summary

Accor is seeking a Laundry Attendant for a luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi to ensure efficient, high-quality processing of all linen and fabric items. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and knowledge of laundry operations within a prestigious 5-star setting.

Responsibilities include sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and timely delivery of clean linen, while upholding strict hygiene and safety standards in a fast-paced luxury environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene and quality standards.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.

• Collect, sort, count, and classify hotel linen, uniforms, guest laundry, and other fabric items according to procedures.
• Operate washing machines, dryers, ironing machines, presses, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect items for stains, damage, and quality before and after washing.
• Apply appropriate washing, stain-removal, drying, pressing, and finishing techniques according to fabric type and hotel standards.
• Fold, press, package, and distribute clean linen and uniforms to the appropriate departments.
• Process guest laundry and dry-cleaning items accurately and within required turnaround time.
• Maintain separation of clean and soiled linen to ensure hygiene and prevent cross-contamination.
• Report damaged, stained, or missing items to the Laundry Supervisor promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow all hotel health, safety, hygiene, chemical-handling, and environmental standards.

Job Description

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring the efficient and high-quality processing of all hotel linen, uniforms, guest laundry, and other fabric items. The role requires excellent attention to detail, knowledge of laundry operations, and a strong commitment to maintaining the high standards expected in a 5-star luxury hotel.

• Experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of laundry operations, fabric care, stain removal, washing, drying, ironing, and pressing.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Good physical fitness and ability to stand for long periods and lift/move laundry bags or linen.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene and quality standards.
• Basic communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment.
