Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi invites applications for a Land Test Team Lead to plan, design and directed land-based test and evaluation at Abu Al Abyad and other sites. You will oversee a broad program including arena testing, static rocket and engine testing, and munitions qualification.

You will mentor engineers and technicians, coordinate with clients and internal teams, and ensure data is captured, analyzed, and reported to high standards while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Experience leading technical teams of engineers and technicians.
• Experience planning and executing test programmes in defence or related industries.
• Experience with standards such as UN Series 4, STANAG 4569/4297/4439, AOP-39/55.
• Knowledge of explosives, munitions and qualification testing methodologies.
• Experience setting up data acquisition and sensing equipment.
• Strong understanding of dynamics, vibration, and thermodynamics.
• Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and execution of land-based test activities (arena testing, static rocket/engine tests, explosive tests).
• Collaborate with clients to define requirements and develop test configurations.
• Design test setups to capture performance, safety, and evaluation data.
• Develop verification test plans, procedures, and documentation.
• Oversee test engineers and technicians during preparation and execution.
• Ensure data is captured, validated, and reported per requirements.
• Prepare technical reports and present data accurately.
• Manage data acquisition systems and testing equipment.
• Monitor emerging testing technologies and opportunities to improve capabilities.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians across the team.
• Coordinate with clients, officers, contractors, and internal teams for delivery.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards and safety procedures.
