Job summary

Ali and Sons Holding L.L.C. is seeking an experienced Senior Pipeline Surveyor to lead field surveys, stakeouts, and data interpretation for pipeline projects in Abu Dhabi.

You will operate and maintain GPS/GNSS receivers, total stations, and laser scanners, delivering accurate maps and reports for engineers and managers. The role requires a PLS or equivalent license and a minimum of 5 years in pipeline surveying.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in surveying or closely related field is required.
• Current PLS or equivalent license in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in pipeline surveying and construction.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation) and GIS.
• Experience operating GPS/GNSS, total stations and digital levels.
• Knowledge of land acquisition, rights-of-way and easement research.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise field surveys to establish pipeline routes
• locate existing infrastructure
• and verify property boundaries with meticulous attention to detail
• Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment including GPS GNSS receivers total stations and laser scanners ensuring data accuracy and instrument calibration
• Analyze and interpret survey data generating accurate maps drawings and reports that clearly depict pipeline alignments rights-of-way and relevant features
• Collaborate closely with engineers construction crews and project managers to provide real-time survey support and resolve any field discrepancies
• Perform topographic and cross-section surveys to inform pipeline design and identify potential challenges or environmental considerations
• Stake out control points alignment lines and critical features for pipeline construction ensuring adherence to design specifications
• Research and review historical survey records property deeds and legal descriptions to establish accurate boundary information
• Monitor construction progress against established survey controls documenting any deviations and communicating findings to the project team
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards regulations and safety protocols throughout all surveying activities
• Prepare and present survey findings and recommendations to stakeholders effectively communicating technical information

Qualifications

• Current Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or equivalent license in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience specifically in pipeline surveying and construction.
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation) and GIS applications.
• Demonstrated expertise in operating and processing data from GPS/GNSS, total stations, and digital levels.
• Strong understanding of land acquisition processes, right-of-way documentation, and easement research.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex engineering plans and legal descriptions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse project teams.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain, often in remote locations.
