Position Overview: A civil materials testing laboratory technician will perform routine and specialized tests on construction materials, including soil, concrete, cement aggregates, and asphalt. The role involves supporting field and laboratory operations, ensuring quality control, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and specialized tests on construction materials such as soil, concrete, cement aggregates, and asphalt.
• Carry out field and laboratory testing in compliance with ASTM, BS, AASHTO standards or project specifications.
• Prepare samples and perform testing including sieve analysis, Proctor compaction test, Atterberg limits, slump test, compressive strength test for concrete, asphalt density, and bitumen tests.
• Record, analyze, and report test results accurately.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibrations are current.
• Ensure proper sample collection, labeling, and storage procedures.
• Assist QA/QC Engineers in quality control documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized lab environment.
• Support site inspection teams when required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in civil/material testing laboratory, preferably on construction projects.
